DVCAM in M25U deck no signal
by Rich Rubasch on Mar 22, 2007 at 6:36:25 pm

I have thw M25U deck with a DVCAM tape. I have all the internal setting on the deck right (it seems) I have the firewire and HDMI of the deck going to the
Connect MI and the RS422 and the SDI cable going directly into the Aurora Pipe Breakout box.

No signal, control or video is getting to FCP. No way to even know if I am getting anything out the HDMI port on the deck.

Any secret sequence of powering up components for this to work? I would think the Connect MI is powered up after the deck is set then launch batch capture in FCP to then see the signals.

Anyone have this issue on their first attempt....I'm sure this is a rookie thing.

New driver is more stable....still got the distorted audio but a power cycle on the MI took care of it. Seems to work ok if not being a little flakey, but it is the workd of firewire and some trickery with the conversion from HDMI to SDI.

But an almost essential add on to the M25U deck.

Hi Rich-
Glad the new code fixed the problem. We did have a problem with the embedded audio in SD-SDI, but this latest code should be correct (works correctly with our Sony DSR1500A DVCAM deck).

Best-
Mike Schell
