Hello everyone, I'm looking at buying an HD Connect SI for a project. I'm assuming that everyone here is happy with it's performance. Is anyone able to compare it to a Miranda Bridge Dec box? I know Miranda makes great gear, but that it's 3x the price.

To put it in context, I'm a DP looking to add some HDV (from a sony V1U camera-1080p24)into an Avid Nitris workflow. (The majority of the show is from an HDX900 (720p 23.98/59.94), capturing via a AJ1400 deck (1080 output) into the avid.)

We have some HDV footage from the Sony V1U to include. The post houses are all pretty leery of HDV. I hope the HD connect SI will allow them to connect a Sony HVR M15 deck to their avid and capture HDSDI (1080) with 422 machine control.

Will it work?

Hi Scott-
We have a number of successful HD-Connect SI installations on Avid Nitris systems using our RS-422 deck control with the Sony M15 deck. I'll try to locate someone to post on this forum.

We can likely arrange for a test unit through one of our dealers.
