Constant breaks on Canon's 24F media

Well, I borrowed an HDConnectLE unit and have it working via RS422 from both a Canon HV10 and an A1 into Final Cut Pro. I have not gotten this to working very well. It constantly stops and recues a second or two later and re-starts capturing, thus missing some data/media. This happens mid-clip, with no tc break whatsoever (ie in the middle of an interview).

Any ideas why this is happening or what we can do to fix it? I want this solution to work badly and will buy one this week if it does, but so far, it's too painful for the price if it won't capture full clips.

Hi Kevin-
Any chance the tape could be in drop-frame time code and the box set to non-drop-frame mode (or vice versa)?

Thanks a lot, Mike. I think this did it. I thought I had it set right, but I guess I didn't. Preliminary tests are that it's working fine.

Hope so...I'll be buying one very soon, if so.
