A few firmware updates ago the SD Connect stopped automatically switching to capture mode when I open the capture window in Premiere Pro. I have upgraded to Premiere Pro 2 and the problem is still there. Can anyone help?? SD Connect is set to Premiere Pro and device control in Premiere to Promax standard. SD Connect Firmware version is 1.1.217. Also with the new capture modes in Premiere Pro can SD Connect use any of these modes to capture in higher resolution than DV.
Finally John Schell if you are reading... remember the problem we were communicating over last year regarding assembling back to tape?? Still no resolution as yet. Have not needed to use this for a while but about to commence a large job and I will need to assemble back to tape (DVCPro deck) at the end of each edit job, about 4 times each day. Have you had any joy??
Thanks for the help guys and great product. The television station I work for were so impressed they bought one too!

Hi Andrew,
We just got a copy of Premiere 2.0 here, so I'll give it a try soon. I'll let you know what I find as far as switching between capture and playback.
We have a beta release (1.1.227) of the software with some changes to the deck control. Does your DVCPro deck support auto edits? We had a DVCPro deck in and found that some of them don't support auto edits, so we added the crash record ability to the beta firmware.
Let me know if the beta version works better for you. You have to use get version and dial in 1.1.227.
Regards,

Thanks John...
Will try after Easter and let you know. Keep up the good work. Great product. Missing the auto switching to capture when I enter capture mode and back when I close the capture window. DVCPro deck I use is an AJ-D950 which can auto edit. My computer has a firewire card with VIA chipset. This worked fine initially but I am aware that there are issues with VIA chipset cards. Trying to get a TI chipset but no local dealers have TI chipset cards. Seems VIA are the most presominant in the market.

Hi Andrew,
We tried using Premiere Pro 2.0 here and noticed the problem. We'll work on fixing that shortly. The VIA chipset is a little questionable. I went on Ebay to find the TI chipset cards we use here. They are not used as widely as the VIA chipset, probably due to it costing a few dollars more.
