Hey Guys:

I am running ver SW1.1.211 and FW 1.14,First the solution I am the one who had a problem in Stand alone mode where somehow I would loose sync with my betacam and my picture would scan down didnt matter what you guys did, well the solution was to check in system the "VID SRC Genlocked" this would be a helpful hint in the manual I discovered it by sheer frustration, and tried what ever I could think of, since I had external ref always checked from the get go I didnt think that VID SRC would do anything , but hey it does you might want to add a Hints section to the manual.

Now to the problem, ever since I have been using Stand alone mode( which works like a charm by the way now that VID SRC is checked)every morning I come in when I power the unit it always(as in ALWAYS) says no error but the box is frozen no amount of twisting the knobs works I have to unplug the unit and restart then all is fine except that I have to manually reset all my settings in Stand alone mode which can take up to 10 minutes due to slow ref lock see multiple times(seems like every time you twist the knob it wants to relock itself) you set one thing and another gets reset it goes on an on, can you guys add a stand alone user saving option, so that I can choose it and be done with it, I am getting really annoyed by this.

AS Always

Hi Luc,
Sorry for your frustration. We should have suggested that to you earlier. In any case its a great hint and we'll include it in the FAQs.
When you power down the unit at night, do you press the power button, or kill the power to the SD-Connect? I would suggest that you update to the latest software (1.1.213). We fixed a user configuration error in Standalone mode. Once you have updated, change all the settings to the way you want them and press the power button. This will save the settings (especially in the fixed 213 software). I'll also give it a try tonight by leaving a box in standalone and pressing the power button and checking in in the morning.
Let me know how it works for you.

Hey John:

This morning when I started the box it had forgotten all my settings for stand alone again, last night I did shut the box using the power button, but I also shut the power to my power strip after the box power had been turned off. This time around when I reentered my Stand alone settings it didnt loose some setting while setting it up like it use to before the upgrade to.213(I hope you understand this phrase)so it took about 3 to 4 min. to set up, before .213 I would set it up it would loose some setting I had to go back reset etc.... Let me know what you think is going on.

Thx
Luc

Hi Luc,
So some of your settings are still getting lost in version 213?
Which settings are still getting lost? Do you switch between DV mode and standalone mode?

Well I did what you told me yesterday, saved it by doing the power button thing, all was fine and this morning when I powered the unit it had reverted back to what seems like the default setting of a new out of the box settings.

Hey John:

I figgered out what the problem is (I think)it seems that the box needs to be plugged in all the time, as in, you can push the power button to shut it off but it has to remain plug in to a power source to keep its memory of how it is setup, and by shutting the power strip to which it is plugged in then it looses all memory of how it was set up, I sure hope this can be changed somehow, I like to disconnect all power to my equipment, this way in case of thunderstorm late at night when I am not here all should be safe. Then again I could be wrong.A lithium battery inside could solve this quandry

Hi Luc,
The SD-Connect can save settings without a battery using non-volatile memory. We did find some issues with the software and are working on an update. We should have one for you on Monday.
Have a good weekend

Hi Luc,
If you do a get new only, you will get version 1.1.214. This has some fixes for the saved configurations. Let me know how this works for you.
