Vray material question

Vray material question

Hello,

I am using 3DS Max 2012 and I just downloaded a VRay material fromhttp://www.vray-materials.de. My question is how do I get it imported so I can use it? I found some explainations online but they are not very descriptive. I do have VRay set as my renderer. I am still a little new using 3DS Max so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I got it figured out for the most part. The issue I am having is that some of the materials (for example this one: http://www.vray-materials.de/all_materials.php?mat=2783) doesn't seem to import correctly, it creates a new category but nothing is in it. Some of the other materials I downloaded work just fine, they bring in several different materials. That is the issue I am having right now.

The materials on that website are all user-generated so you will find different levels of organisation.
i have also found some work great straight off and some take a bit of fiddling.

Main problems are usually incorrectly linked files - so you have to go through and repick the texture files.

There's no real answer as the problems will depend on each texture creators methods.
