rendering to .png with transparent background
by Adam Zehavi on Aug 21, 2009 at 9:15:55 pm

hey guys, I'm kind of new to 3ds max, I just finished a couple of tutorials and designed a few nice scenes, but I have a tiny problem, I would like to use this rendering for a cellular application I'm currently working on and I really need the bg to be transparent, and I just didn't find a way to do this... I looked on the forum found two matches one didn't had an answer the other had nothing to do with it.

could someone shade some light for me please,

Thanks,
Adam.

when you save the render output to png, you have an option on the png configuration dialog that is a checkbox saying "alpha channel", keep that checked and you will have your transparency =)
