clouds in 3ds max
by al hunter on May 22, 2009 at 9:58:09 am

Is there a way to create clouds in 3ds max?. I have a game with a spaceship travelling in space. I need make some realistic looking clouds. I need to create clouds as a model to be used in Directx. Sometimes Directx does not accept nor recognize effects from 3ds max,so it can be tricky but I'll like to try

Thanks

Since what you want is a model of a cloud, you could use a blobmesh metaball modelling or you could use particles as metaballs and turn them into a mesh. I don't know how you'll generate a good cloud effect in DirectX, maybe use max's smoke texture.
Hope it helps.
