Rendering Elements without rendering complete frame?
by Lazlo Hollyfeld on Feb 26, 2007 at 12:24:42 pm

Hi There,

I found this while poking around the 3DSMax User Manual:

"When you render one or more elements, a normal complete rendering is also generated. In fact, the element renderings are generated during the same rendering pass, so rendering elements costs little extra render time."

Is this true?? What if I forgot that I wanted an element, but don't want the computer to render out the entire frame because I don't want to wait? Can I render an element without having the computer to go through the arduous task of rendering the full image as well?

Thanks!

-Laz.
