Work area for previewing animation?
by Lazlo Hollyfeld on Feb 25, 2007 at 7:57:38 pm

Hi There,

Most time based media production tools have some sort of "work area" on the timeline that a user can set. How can I set a "work area" on the 3DSMax timeline? For example, in AfterEffects, a user just has to move an in and out point to define the area to preview. Is there anything like this in Max?

Thanks!

Laz.

Theres a few ways I know of to do *kinda* the same thing as AFX.. What I do most often is to hold Ctrl and Alt, then left-click on the keyframe bar thingi and drag - you can zoom in and out easily that way. It will change the start and end frame of your render settings automatically too. I generally just use the custom range in the animation preview window myself.
