exporting to maya

I use maya and cinema4d on a mac instead of 3ds max - but have found some models for sale which i really need in 3ds max7(.max) format.
will it be possible to take these models into 3dsmax and then re-export them as something maya can read like .obj? I cant find any designers i know who use 3ds max(i am in London) hence this message and i dont want to buy the models until i know i can use them.

use right hemisphere deep exploration it will convert the 3ds max file into an mb or ma FILE that can be read in maya without any further conversion to 3ds or obj file format enjoy
