firestore not creating contents folder
by Christen Marquez on Aug 25, 2009 at 10:32:45 pm

I have been using a 250gig Firestore FS 100 with my HVX200 for about 6 months now. I hasn't given me any problems until now.

It is no longer creating a contents folder with the other folders, audio, clip, icon, video (the one that contains the MXF files) ect.

It does make one file with a funky long name (20030724-122546A01). This is where it puts the MXFs. I can play what I record back through the camera, but since it is not the right file structure, when I try to Log and Transfer in FCP it does not recognize the files.

I have tried re-partitioning the drive, and re-installing the FS 4.0.1 software that the FS 100 is running. Still no dice. Thankfully I was just playing around with the drive and realized that this was happening so there is no footage on the drive that I need. However I have a shoot coming up in a couple of weeks, and I hope that there is a way to fix it by then. Thanks for the help!

Did you run the Organize P2 function from the Utilities menu after the recording?

ugh, yeah... I figured that out right after I posted this. I guess I just was trying to make things hard on myself. Embarrassing! thanks though.
