Importing a Corrupted Clip Through FCP

Probably you already know this, but I just figured it out.
Sometimes when I want to "Log and Transfer" my clips into FCP from the Firestore FS-100, there will be one or two clips that don't import. Often it's because I bumped the firewire cable while shooting. Usually I check the timecode and go back to the tape to import, though I hate having to do it.
But I realized that FCP sometimes can let you import most of the clip - everything but a few seconds around the glitch.
With the Firestore attached, open up FCP. Go to File: Log and Transfer.
Find the particular clip that didn’t transfer. Click on it. It will appear in the Log and Transfer "viewer" window on the right.
Press the letter “I” to mark an IN point at the beginning of the clip and then scrub or play through until you find the glitch. FCP might go beachball on you when you hit the glitch but it should come back. Go to a frame just before the glitch and hit the letter “O” to mark the OUT point. Now click the “Add Clip to Queue” button just below the viewer window. It should capture.
Then do the same thing on the other side of the glitch. You will end up with a few seconds missing from the glitch area. Saved me a lot of trouble.
