We shot a Kickboxing commercial today. My DP noticed it would record after couple of hours on. I turned it off and turned it on. Hey it worked after that. That troubles me but all the video was caputred and no corrupted files. We shot 480i 24p VIDEOCAM MODE and DVCPRO 50 and shot this on a hvx200.
I have been noticed that the Sony HDV camcorders are having issues with this? Is this a HDV / DVCPRO HD Battle? hmmmmmmmm

I am a FCP 5.2 user and a DVDSTPRO4 user

The 4-pin FW connection on the HVX200 is a) bad idea for a "tapless" camera and should have used the more solid and reliable 6-pin connection, b) filmsy and weak even for a FW 4-pin connection.

I've found using a reverse right angled FW cable on the HVX's 4-pin end of the cable to help a lot. Also, I'm now experimenting with a nice solution by LS Design (don't know web URL, not printed on anything I got from him). It's basically a hard rubber like, molded piece. It has a hole for the FW connector and a hole for the 1/8 audio connector just above it. It comes with a 1/8 audio plug. The audio plug and FW connector fit snug inside it, and it uses the audio plug and its contact with the HVX body to make the FW connection more secure.

Yep, that 4-pin FW connector on the HVX is a total PITA. Why they didn't just go with a 6-pin on a tapleless camera is beyond me.
