I suppose this has been asked a million times but I can't find the answer - is there a tutorial somewhere that says how to get specific guitar sounds using GBand amps and effect - eg Santana, AC/DC, Metallica etc?

Greg Bear,
from my experience, the fx's and amps are very vanilla, tame and can really be tweaked a lot. I must admit I have never tried to program sounds of other guitarists. I have programed for the guitar being used (a strat or tele) to taste, mine of coarse. I believe that using the provided fx's offers a large palate to choose from. I have been learning about the AU fx's provided with the program. eq, filters and stuff have really helped me nail the sounds that I have been looking for.
An obvious observation, so let me state the obvious when Clapton or Zappa or Santana, record or play like their guitar sounds have been sculpted by engineers with golden ears and lots of out board gear to get that old fender princeton or marshall split face to sound great through the P.A. or recording equipment to get those signature sounds that these people are famous for.
