Certain Band set-ups in garageband
by Dale Fallows on Sep 23, 2009 at 5:37:53 pm

Just got into recording my guitar on garageband, and with all the virtual pedals and such now, is there anywhere with info on how to get certain popular band sounds. I thought there'd be some online resource, and I've seen certain settings posted on forums but nothing that great.

I was just checking, i wanted to get a kings of leon sound and thought it'd save messing with the settings.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with any big online database of presets out there for GB guitar tones or effects that mimic popular band sounds. Might be one somewhere but I can't find it. There are some things packs out there that include sounds that are supposed to be modeled after famous artists but not anything as simple as selecting a band or a song from a long list and downloading a preset for it. I can see how that would be handy.

You can check out Tone Heaven. http://www.macsongtools.com/toneheavenvol.1.html

That said, I find figuring it out by ear to be quite educational.
