Mirrored Raid VS. Daily Backup

Hey guys, wasn't sure where to post this, but figured this would be as good as any place...
My company is buying a G-tech G-SPEED PRO for our main edit suite. We can't get a second one at his point so I'm looking at other options for the second edit suite. We have several external drives around so I'm thinking we should either make a couple mirrored raids out of them or either just schedule daily back up's with back up software. Given that this is an edit suite that is used daily, which option would you go with?

I'm not familiar with the product, but does it support RAID formatting other than "0"? If so, I would use that.
If that's not an option, I would go for scheduled backups and set them to run at 1 AM or sometime when you are not around. I think having a mirrored scheme will take resources from your computer that you will want for rendering or more playback horse power.
Absolute worst case scenario is you will lose 1 day's worth of work.

Thanks for the reply. The G Tech E Speed supports many different Raid types. We're going to buy one, but our second edit suite will need another option. Good points on using the scheduled back up versus a mirrored raid.
