Hi, I've followed the forums now and again here, but I've run into an issue that I have never encountered or heard about before. I've been searching online and in other forums on what to do.
Last week at work, Thursday, I was given a G-Tech external harddrive, I can't remember the make or model, but it was formated on a Mac g5 tower running Tiger I believe. I plugged it into our Macpro running Leopard 10.5.6 and this showed up.

I could mount the drive, see it and get files off of it, but I could not write anything to the drive. It became read only.

Hi Alex,
Oftentimes reformatting the drive will take care of the problem. If you still get the message, or notice your performance is impaired, send the drive in for repair. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
