G-Speed ES RAID and G-Drive FW wont work together

I recently installed a 2-unit G-Speed ES RAID in my MacPro OSX 10.5.8. It works fine and I'm very happy with it.
But when I attempt to mount a 500 GB Firewire G-Drive into the same system, it will not appear on the desktop.
It's the same no-show whether I use Firewire 400 or 800. And in no matter what order I turn on the computer and G-Drive. It doesn't work whether the RAID is turned on or not.
Any ideas please?

Hi Godfrey,
Sounds like your G-DRIVE may have a problem. Does it show up in Disk Utility or DiskWarrior? Which G-DRIVE model do you have? You may need to return it for repair, you can fill out the RMA request form here: http://g-technology.com/Support/Support.cfm?Loc=Contact. Put it to my attention, and mention this thread.

Gene, thank you for answering so quickly.
The drive is a G-Drive FW 500GB (FW800 &FW400)
No, it doesn't show up in Disk Utility so I expect it must be in trouble.
I will return it to you as you suggest and I will mention the thread.
I hope I said how pleased I am with my new G-Tech ES RAID.
