G-Drive mini no longer mounts via FW-800

I have a G-Drive mini (320 GB / 7400 rpm) that was working fine until yesterday, when my system (MacBook Pro 17" unibody / OSX 10.5.7) crashed. After forcing a shut down and rebooting, I discovered that my G-drive mini would no longer mount. Although the drive does appear in Disk Utility, all options (including "erase" and "format") are grayed-out/non-selectable. The drive still spins, but it appears to my computer as being unformatted, having a TOTAL capacity of 0 (see image). And when it is connected to my computer, it significantly slows the boot-up and shut down times.
I have been using the FW-800 interface. I tried connecting via USB 2, but it just make a clicking noise (it may need the optional power supply, which I don't have).

Hi Otto,
Sounds like your directory may be messed up. Do you have DiskWarrior? If so, it is possible that it can fix your problem, and it's a great tool to have. After rebuilding the directory, it should make the drive avaiable to you. If that doesn't work, or you don't have DiskWarrior, you can send in your drive for repair. I have and tried DiskWarrior - the drive does not appear in DW since the failure. It does appear in Tech Tool Pro 5, but I can't run any test or operation on it.
