G Drive not mounting on my computer anymore - still spinning and will mount on other's comps

Hey there. A friend unfortunately attempted to eject my G drive from my computer while I was running two projects in fcp - he hit "eject" but did not wait for a confirmation on the computer before unplugging the device. I am unsure if it properly ejected, but I assume not as fcp was running. The drive is a 500gig G drive (not raid), I'm running FCP 5.1.1, and OSX.4.11. The drive WILL mount on his computer, runnning OSX.5.6. The individual media files that fcp was using at the time appear to be intact - there were simply quicktime files and still play in quicktime. Also - the drive was running fine directly before this while I was editing on it, was purchased in the past 6 months and has never given me trouble. I have restarted the comp, the drive, unplugged everything for a few minutes and tried again. The drive is still purring beautifully; no funny noises. Please help? I have to edit on my machine! (after I flog my friend til he cries uncle).

I would reset your PRAM by restarting your computer and holding down the following keys
Command + Option + P + R
Hold it down till you here your computer restart and chime. Keep holding it down for three cycles. After that, let your computer boot up.
If that still doesn't work, try connecting the unit via the USB port to see if the drive mounts on that. If it does, then you may have a problem with your firewire port.
Have you tried a different drive with the same firewire connection to see if that port works?

Hi Eduardo,
Restarting the iMac holding down the command/option/P/R keys and waiting for 3 chimes will freeze the computer up in my experience. I had to shut it down and wait 5 min then restart it while holding down the command/option/P/R keys and waiting for 3 chimes, that worked perfectly. Unfortunately the G-Drive did not show up on the desktop. On the other hand another ext HD connected to the G-Drive showed up with no delay or problem.
Do you have any other suggestions?
