 | Michele Poggi's Editing / VFX / Digital Compositing Show Reel 2011
I've been asked to create a Show Reel in 48h, so being it quite a null time I've taken the request as a challenge, instead of a real Reel workflow.
Sadly, because of some serious problems in the office I've worked with in the last year most of the footage has been lost, especially the Digital Compositing one, that forced me to follow a tutorial re-creating it not having the needed amount of time to work on something completely new.
Lately I've been able to get back some Compositing of a 2K film I've worked on and maybe I'll update the reel in the future.
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it and feel free to contact me for any further info or need!

I am sorry if this seems mean-spirited, Michele, it is not my intent at all and I am hoping you receive this as constructive criticism.
The first section (editing) is too long. It is many fast cuts of the same footage repeated for what seems minutes. Most viewers would stop before they get to the end of it.
The next sections move better and if you were to edit the entire down to one or two minutes at the most (choosing your very best), it would catch the viewers attention far better. As it is, viewers are left wondering if the first section is going to end or if the whole four minutes is going to be the same thing all of the way through.
You have good stuff here, Michele, unfortunately most people will never see it because it is just too long and needs to be tightened up so that they are left wanting more, rather than stopping part of the way through because it stayed on the same thing for much too long.
Again, my apologies if this seems mean-spirited. I hope you do not take it that way.
Best regards,

Mean-spirited? Ronald, your comment is gold to me, and I deeply thank your for your criticism. I'm going to take these advices and thoughts in the best way I can, and to be honest I actually thought the same of you at some spots. Once I can, I'll maybe update this very same Reel and post it again.
Thanks again, and you are indeed right. Oh, and of course thanks for the compliment! It seriously cheer me up.
