Saved projects will not load

Working from school, I put together a digital YEARDISC using Sonic dvdit pro 6.0
I have had different problems in the 3 years I have used this software. I have just managed to get the disc out the past 2 years yet I have very little confidence in the usefulness of this product.
We are a networked system with a very secure Novell CMS system at startup. I know DVDIT does not like the network so I try to keep everything on the local drive.
I can't disable my second dvd-rom drive but I'm not sure this is my problem because dvdit loads just fine.
Certain projects that I have worked on, saved, and opened many times suddenly will not open when I go to file: open
I do not have dvdit open the last saved project upon startup. When I try to open certain projects, it just loads an untitled project. Others open just fine.

also, there is a 6.1 update and it might be a bit more stable in this area, but it is not going to bring any corrupted projects back to life. if you would like the 6.1 update, leave me your cloaked email address and I will point you in the right direction.

Tech guys re-imaged my computer, re-installed software and still would not open projects I had trouble with. Currently working on some new projects to see if I have the same problem. I will post progress
