problem when transcoding an xvid avi movie

i'm trying to create a dvd using an avi with a xVid codec.
the simulation works almost fine, it turnes the movie to a black screen
at any chapter other than the first (the first one plays fine and also
continues to the next chapter ok, only when skipping to another chapter)
when autooring the dvd, at the transcoding part i get an error message
HResult -14.

I don't think the application supports Xvid. You should try converting that video into some other format it does accept (mpeg, QT, general AVI, WMV) before importing it in.
