Transcoding issues

I'm using DVDit 6.0. I've noticed that, compared to 5.2, this version takes an awful long time to "Build Movies", which in my mind, means that it's re-encoding my already compliant m2v file. I've noticed that the MPEG 2 file I made looks a lot cleaner in MyDVD than it does after being run through DVDit 6.0. Yes, I've selected all the right preferences and I don't allow non-compliant files to be imported and I have de-selected the option to transcode compliant files.
Tech Support at Sonic is very slow, and their responses are of no help. The last response I got was basically saying that it always Transcodes no matter what. I think this may be the issue that pushes me to another DVD app.
Lastly, an issue that Sonic has never solved for me: somewhere in every single DVD I make with DVDit, there's a video pause (as if it's a dual layer hesitation thing). It only occurs once on the entire disc, and you never know on any given project where it's going to crop up. It doesn't happen with MyDVD, nor did it ever happen with DVDit 2.5

Hello ,
Thank you for your quick answer.
Actually the envirnment for DVD authoring provided by DVDit is nice. The only problem is about transcoding. Do you recommend some SW encoders (Mainconcept, Canopus Procoder, etc) and their setting to get rid of transcoding in DVDit 6.0.

Scott,
Please help me !... I have same problem with pro 6 Sonic for more than 7 months. The movie pause at 1 point ( around 33:34 minutes) on every disc. I am using TMPGEnc also.

I'll say this again and no, I don't work for Sonic. We purchased the Sonic SD-500 real-time encoder, this was the best purchase I've ever made. I've had no problems with the encoded file and the encoding is real time.
