Re: How to create movie window menus and run them simultaneously ? by Germainike on Jul 3, 2006 at 8:39:17 am
Hi Scott,
I've imported 3 video clips onto my first play item where now you can see 3 windows of menu.
I've seen like those DVD movie out there, they can have them play in a loop or longer after the DVD is inserted into the player. This also included sound loop and other titles.
Now how do I make them play in those small screen menus before I make my selection to jump into any of the menu of my choice ?

hmmm. I am still not sure what you want, but I think I am getting closer.
If you want a menu with multiple pieces of video playing on it simultaneously (in different sizes, overlapping, different opacities, etc.), there are 2 ways to accomplish that. 1) composite the menu in a video editing program and then bring it into DVDit 2) place a still background into the menu design area - import the video that you want on that menu - click on the buttons tab in the palette - change the view to "button video" - drag the video buttons onto your still background (size as you wish, drag frames onto the button video if you wish, change opacity as you wish in the button effects tab for each piece of button video) - make sure you select "animate button" for each piece of button video (in the button attributes general tab) - lock each one of those pieces of button video down to your menu (when your button video is selected right click and select lock) - design the rest of your menu
You do not need each of the pieces of video as separate menus in your project as you described... just the button video from those clips...is that what you are looking for?

Thanks Scott.
Last night I managed to get what I wanted. Previously I didn't know what the animated button do but I tried it and it worked. The menus of window video can all played by itself on the first play.
But to simulate it in DVDit, it has to be rendered first where it will be prompted once you right click in the simulated window and select render.
