Hi there,
I'm new w/ DVDit Pro and I have a problem with my .psd which I want to make my menu in DVDit Pro 6.
I put the words (which will become buttons) in the layer Overlay, and then the background and the drop shadow from the words in the layer Background. Whenever I import it in the menu, the layers don't exactly have the same size/ place, because the shadows aren't in the right place. (Moved just a couple of pixels up and sideways.. and sometimes the words are cut of a bit on the side)I know I can do the words in DVDit, but I want a sign in front of the words which won't be possible.
Then my second question, for a 16:9 menu, (problem won't be a problem anymore if my other question is answered;)I put a picture on the background, which I squeezed from 16:9 to 4:3, so the display will be right.. then I want to make buttons with he type tool, and then those words will be stretched?

Koekje,
1) Is there somewhere I can reach you by email? Would like to see your PSD file.
2) what do you mean that you want to put a sign in front of the words and you can't do that? The overlay in front of the words? If so, that's easy to do in DVDit's compositor.
- Create a graphic of the shape/size you want either in Photoshop or as a PNG with transparency.
- Place the graphic in front of the text and set it's subpicture style to fill button shape.
- Press the "c" on your keyboard so you can see what the rollover effect will look like.
- Go to the effects tab for that button and set opacity for the button to "0"
- use the highlight tool at the top of the menu compositor to surround both your text and your button highlight.
- set the subpicture style for the highlight rectangle to none
- drag your movie onto the highlight rectangle
The result will be a menu with text on it where rolling over the text shows a highlight in front of the text. You can also do this with underlines under the text, a circle around the text...really quite unlimited.
3) unfortunately, at this point, there is no real 16:9 menu support in DVDit Pro. You can create one by dragging 16:9 video onto the compositor and using just the Highlight tool for rollovers (no buttons at all on the menu). But, there is a limitation. DVDit does not create the letterbox highlights. So, your 16:9 menu will appear correct on a 16:9 monitor and on a 4:3 monitor where the 16:9 menus are being viewed in Pan and Scan, but they will not appear in the correct place on a 4:3 monitor set to be viewed letterbox.
