eDVD not linking to file

I've been preparing a DVD together with with a MS Powerpoint file with DVDit v5 and eDVD 4.
Everything seems fine in simulate mode...all the menu buttons link to the appropriate chapter in the video, and the "View Powerpoint" button opens the ppt file...All O.K.
When I burn the disc and view it thru a PC DVD player; the main menu buttons all link correctly, but when I select the "View Powerpoint" button it only plays the 5 second title/chapter place holder and then returns to main menu. What's happened to my ppt file?
I keep making new eDVD files and checking all links and simulations, but the final DVD disc is always the same...No Powerpoint file.
It's really frustrating, and my client is getting twitchy, so a point in the right direction will be appreciated.

are you playing back content through the InterActual Player on the PC or through the native DVD player on your computer?
what did you burn your eDVD disc with? Are all of the eDVD image folder files at the root level of your DVD with your video_ts (explore the disc and see that you properly placed the autorun and all of the other files at the root level)

.....what did you burn your eDVD disc with? Are all of the eDVD image folder files at the root level of your DVD with your video_ts (explore the disc and see that you properly placed the autorun and all of the other files at the root level).....
Via Avid DVD by Sonic. I've put the video_ts and all the eDVD image files, and the .ppt file in 1 folder, and burned that 1 folder thru Avid DVD.
....What is your native DVD player on your computer? ....

I've tried everyway 'n whichway but same result. Fine in simulate...no link from DVD

so you did a burn from volume in Avid DVD.
I don't know why, but it really sounds like a burn issue. did you try to burn the project to disc with the included RecordNow software? Did you explore the disc to see that everything was at the root level?
does the disc autoload interactual player when you insert it? Here is something you can try....with your disc in the drive, start interactual player and then press the stop button to stop video playback. Open the eDVD image folder and find the index.htm or ialaunch.htm and drag that file into the IA Player window. If it works, your disc is fine, your eDVD files are fine, your burn is not fine.

I've not used RecordNow yet. Checked all files in root level, and all's fine. Started to come to same conclusion you have and re-named the ppt file to shorten and remove any spaces in name (ala HTML).
Disc burn is to DVD+R and then copied that DVD to DVD-R.

Did your test, so disc seems the offender.
Load disc into drive = no auto load
Select drive via My Computer,and click Autoplay = Disc plays and prompts loading of Interactual Player as expected BUT only opens Blank DVD screen together with pre-selected skin. Only way to get program to play is by selecting menu and root or title menu. This brings up the screen correctly and all buttons and files play OK.
So...only problem now is failure to autoload (Autorun.inf is on the disc) and initial blank screen within Interactual Player.

so you know the image is good...but still having issues with the burn. I can't speak to integrity of going from DVD+R to DVD-R. I have no problems burning to DVD+R
1) you should check the disc on antother computer to make sure it's not just your setup there. I am not sure of compatability with the Ulead DVD player (as opposed to winDVD and PowerDVD and cineplayer which together are 99% of the market)

Thanks for all your input.
My client is happy with discs now, and will manually load programme via My Computer. So a result...of sorts.
I have to move onto another editing project now, but will return to this particular DVDit/eDVD programme in a few days time and test things to get a properly finished DVD . I continue with your advice and try other burns.
