One of my friends uses ReelDVD and i like the "results" you get from it. I am not familiar with DVDit vs6 or DVDitPro. If anyone is familiar ...could you please advise if DVDit is actually more "powerful" ... or can at least create the same end product as you could with ReelDVD. I called Sonic last week inquiring about ReelDVD ..and was asked why i was asking about ReelDVD when DVDit vs 6 and DVDitPro were supposedly more versitile than ReelDVD.
thank you
Johnny

At this time, its a tough call.
DVDIt 6 Pro is basically a more modern interface over what looks and feels like Sonic Producer to me. I like Producer, and DVDit, but just remember, there design only goes so far. If you're making a wedding DVD, or a family DVD, or almost anything that does not require the use of an more than two languages, then DVDit in a great application. It's smooth, simple, and has a lot of bang for the buck.
Is it better than ReelDVD?
Well, tough to say. In a lot of ways, I think Sonic has too many DVD authoring applications. ReelDVD has a good fan base, but in my opinion, it could be so much better. The big let down for me at least is that it puts everything in one place. All in a single VTS. If Sonic would just allow you put menus in the VMG, or add multiple VTS, or something, it would be so much nicer. They have the interface which gives it the appearance that so much more is possible.
DVDit does not place everything in a single VTS. Which is why your DVD player shows the actual clock counter when playing a DVD made with DVDit. This is not the case with ReelDVD. You most likely see just a series of minus signs. It's not a flaw, its just another way of doing something. I like the counter, and I think most would agree. I'd go with DVDit 6 Pro. You get eDVD with it, and its a good value.
You could also choose Adobe's Encore DVD, and buy eDVD as a separate product if you like. It's a similar price point, and a similar feature set. Sonic's DVD Producer, DVDit 6 Pro, and Encore DVD are all in the same ballpark. ReelDVD is its own island. Good application, but by design, you may or may not like it. I am in the middle on it, and tend not to use it. Still, RealDVD has a nice track record for making flawlessly perfect DVDs. It uses the same muxxer as Scenarist, and so it does have advantages. Tough call...
