How do you put a split in the timeline on Motion? I am trying to mask something, but it's something that's moving, so I need to know how!

Just duplicate the track you want to split and set the in and out points where you want them to 'split.'

also you can put your playhead where you want it to split and go up to EDIT... and then.. SPLIT.
