 | Turn Video into Cartoon- Motion Freezes

I have been following Aharon Rabinowitz' tutorial on turning video into a cartoon using Adobe Illustrator, found in the Creative Cow tutorials section. However, I do not have AE and have been following along in Motion 3. I have been able to achieve the look in AI and it looks really cool. The thing is that when I try to import the AI files into Motion all at once the system freezes or I get the spinning pinwheel of death. This project is done as individual frames so I have roughly 260 individual AI files (or roughly 10 sec of video @30fps) that need to be composited back together in Motion. Does anyone have any idea why Motion is freezing? Or maybe is there a better way of importing this many files to be reconstructed into a sequence? Thanks!
