Au 3 Pops when I hit play
by John Goerner on Jun 3, 2008 at 9:20:43 pm

I just upgraded to Au 3 and am experiencing a loud pop just about everytime I press play. I dont remember this happening in 2 or it was so long ago that I can't remember what I did to fix it.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Does it pop from where ever you press play? What OS are you using? It could be anything. Possibly performance related. I've noticed Audition 3 requires a lot more PC then 1.5 did. (I never really used 2) It could be your sound card too.

Hi Mike. Thanks for asking.

Yes it pops right at the beginning when I press play - loudly. I'm running it on my new MacBookPro under VMWare Fusion running WindowsXP. I've designated 2 meg of ram. I'm using my built in sound card.

Well, I don't have any experience with Windows on Mac. You might be better using boot camp and boot into Windows to give it the full system resources.

Well it seemed to clear itself up. I had designated more ram to Fusion before but maybe it didn't take effect until I rebooted the mac --not just the virtual machine.

Here's another issue people may face using Audition on a mac...It won't see my "shared" hard drive...only the one associated with the virtual machine. I can add external drives, but I only made my main "C" drive 20Gig so I'm kinda stuck until I reformat and reload software.

Thanks.
