 | Pitch changes on its own
by Sam Behrens on Apr 5, 2005 at 5:03:03 am |
I am trying to stretch a section without changing the pitch. Admittedly, I am fairly new at this, but I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right (well, I guess not since it's not working). When I play the stretched clip in edit mode, or when I preview the new (stretched) clip, it plays fine. When I play it in multi-track mode it plays an octive higher.
Much thanks.

Sam,
You are doing it right, but I think you are confusing pitch with speed ... The effect is only present in the multi track side and is not mixed down to the track until you do the actual mixdown ... When you make a clip shorter it speeds up the sound, but it's in the same pitch ... On the converse side of this world, when you stretch a clip it slows the voice and or music down but as when you shorten it, the pitch still remains the same .......... WILLIE
