Monet Off Screen Tracking

I have shot where a sign needs to be replaced. The sign is static but the camera is doing a dolly pull and pan and the sign enters screen from the right.
I have tried tracking backwards from the end of the sequence where the whole sign is in the shot but when the sign goes offscreen the track gets messed
up, especially when it gets to where the sign is about 1/4 in frame. Is there a special way of doing this or something to get the track, I have tried doing
3D tracking but it's not accurate. Thanks for any help.
