soften for inserted image edge @ monet

hi

it is possible to make edges of inserted image edge @ monet soft?i mean as tool of feathere mask at discreet systems?

if yes! then how?

Hi Romy,

There are two ways you can do this. Firstly, you can use the controls on the Edge tab within insert. This gives you independent control over the softness of each edge of the inserted area. If you need finer control, you can use the layer mask, which can have softness varied on a point-by-point basis. To set the edge with of the layer mask use the controls on the Layer tab: set an edge width, then set the point mode to edge to move the edge points to any position. You can then use the mask for the insert by ticking "Use Matte" in the Comp tab on Insert.

hi John

i can't put my hand on both ways u said!
can u specfy in more details plz?
i need to change the softness during am seeing the result on the composite..
i changed at edge width then pressed allpy but no result!!
why this option is not clear like menu of wrap and this stuff!.. like all other compositing software!

am using version 1.5.7

If you have control points selected, the Apply button applies the edge only to those points. Maybe you only have one point selected, and you don

OK thanx i got how to expand the edge!
BUT how to make it soft i can't get it!

i mean y u don't put edge softness value parameter box is clear??as most of softwares which make me apply edge softness easly!

maybe the confusion is that the soft edge controls are in the Layers module. If you're in Insert you won't see them.
