Best format to convert HDV into...

I am using a 1080i HDV (Canon XH A1)@60i and I want to know what is the best format to re-encode into using AFTER EFFECTS. I am upconverting it to 1920x1080, and I want to preserve as much quality as possible, as well as to have stream that is better than the mpeg2 transport for editing.
