Converting HDV footage from JVC to Sony

I have two projects to edit which were shot in 720p with a JVC GY HD 100U camera, but my editing equipment is Final Cut Pro with a Sony HDV deck (HVR-M15U). What would be the best solution for getting my footage digitized into a format that I can work with? It seems that I will need some JVC equipment to upload it, but will I be able to work with it after that without using the JVC deck again. I am looking to output the final product to SD DVD.
