Cloning HDV Tapes

Is it possible to clone HDV tapes from one Camcorder/Deck to another via firewire as you can in DV?

Lee- Yes. The procedure is spelled out in the owners manual under dubbing/editing.

I have a Sony Z1U and a Sony HVR-M10. I have not figured out how to make an HDV clone with Time Code with this set up. Maybe I am missing something. Is it possible?

If not, could I do it if I had the Z1U and a Sony GV-HD700?

Will- You can do an HDV dub with the Z-1 & M-10. Use the iLink (firewire) cable only. Both the playback source and record deck need to be in HDV (not DV) mode. iLink down-convert must be off. I am not sure about timecode.
