V1U 24p A? or not into FCP

About to shoot on V1U in 24p mode HDV.
This footage will be combined with HDCAM 23.98P footage from F-900s. Editing in latest version FCP. Kona 3 capture card.
Plan to ingest the V1U footage using Convergent Design LE box, HDV via firewire in, out HD-SDI, into Kona / FCP. This allows HDV footage to come into edit as HD - probably using Pro-Res. 1080/23.98p HDCAM footage would be captured using same codec.
Question:
If I shoot V1U 24p (not 24A mode), understand the HDV tape is recorded as 1080/60i (the 24p look remains). Will I have issues trying to cut against "true" 23.98 HDCAM footage in same FCP sequence?
What happens if I shoot 24a mode on the V1U? I want to again bring in the footage to FCP using HDV-HD-SDI conversion.
Any FCP sequence problems forseen?
Last year, similar project in Avid Adrenaline, we had to use a 1080i project, HDV came in thru HD-SDI fine, but all the HDCAM 1080/23.98p footage had to be dubbed out of house to 1080i, only way to work in Avid.
I'm hoping I don't have to deal with this in FCP...appreciate any tips or feedback.

No no trouble mixing, but if you are going to output 60i later anyway you could set the 900 to add pull down and they both will be 60i with the 24p look. I'm not sure you can remove the pulldown while capturing in the fashion you described. I do believe there may be a box coming from Convergent Design that with do this. You may be better off shooting 24pA to know where the cadence of the pulldown starts and try using Cinema Tools during a test.

Thanks Michael.
Failed to mention.. output will be 1080/23.98p HDCAM Master, off to color grading. So HDCAM footage should probably stay 1080p?
I'm trying to understand - does 24a footage shot on V1U look and act like HDCAM 23.98p footage to a FCP sequence, both being captured Pro-Res or similar (ie NO HDV codec used during capture). Any thoughts welcomed.
Thanks.

24p and 24pA record modes are 24 frames with pulldown added. They both give you the 24 frame look over a 30 frame time base or 60 field time base however you want to say it. 24pA resets the Long GOP cadence so EDL's like FCP can locate the flags and remove them when using specific capture setups. If your final output is 60i for broadcast then there is no reason to work in 24p. If you 're doing a tape to tape color correction they can work with 60i the same as 24p. I always work backwards from final output and/or final delivery. Don't get caught up in 24p. I could play the same 24p sequence in 60i and you couldn't tell between the two. Don't jump through hoops if you don't have to. The HD Cam can record 24 frames as 60i. However if this is really a film delivery you are going to want 24 frames, if not don't beat yourself up trying to remove something that will ultimately be added back.
