HDV Export for Projection

Hi Everyone,
I have a project that I've edited in HDV in FCS2. It's 24p. I'm exporting it so that I can play that file from a MacBookPro to an HD projector, and I'm trying to get the highest-quality file possible, while keeping the file small enough for the laptop to play it without problems.
The project is just under 2 minutes.
Right now I'm exporting using QuickTime Conversion, and using HDV 1080p24 as my compression type.
The file looks OK as far as quality. But is there a better way to do this, and get better quality?

Katie- Why export via quicktime conversion? Just go out HDV native for your quicktime movie.
Size is not the issue. HDV movies are relatively small. It's the processing power that is essential for HDV playback. Does the HDV native QT play on the laptop without stuttering?
Your best bet is to lay back to HDV tape (native) to your camera (or deck) and playback via component HD or, better yet, HDMI if your deck and projector have the connections.
Hope this helps.

I agree about using tape. I had the chance to show a program on a huge movie screen and the theater had an HDV deck so it was a breeze to just show up with a little cassette. looked fabulous. if they don't have a deck just bring your camera and the component cable as jerry suggests.

Hi,
If you do not want to use a play back from tape and stick to your laptop stay in hdv. I did a projection of an indy project feature with a christie hd projector though a g5 desktop it was in 50i. I just set the the video card to 50Herts . I would advice you set your frequency for your 24p. If your laptop does not offer the right options, you will be able to find on the net several applications that will allow you to custom set your video card frequency.
The result of my projection was perfect. really impecable image on a 7m based screen.
