I also want to buy an tv for it, use it as monitor for editing.
What specification does the television need to work proper?
I was planning to go to the local audio-video shop, but im not sure what would be best.
Im not familar with all this stuff, so thats why i ask it at the pro's here.
Thx

This "deck" is, from what I know, the recording and playback guts from a Sony HDV camera w/o the optics in a different form factor. If that's true (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that), playback performance will be similar/identical to whatever Sony HDV camera you're using, so the only benefit would be putting the strain on a tape transport that isn't in your camera. We just use the cameras.
No TV you pick up at Best Buy is going to be a true broadcast monitor, but you can still use one. Calibrate it the best you can and keep conscious of the fact that you'll be seeing an image that isn't true to the signal going into it. These broadcast quality monitors are really expensive, but you have to pay to play this game and that's one of those things that can really separate a pro from a hobbyist.
