I'm guessing you can't just use mini dv tapes can you?

HDV tapes have been covered may times on this forum please do a search before posting.

since i don't have anything better to do for the next 3.5 minutes... We've found that we are plagued with dropped frames no matter what format of tape we are using (maybe its our playback deck). Be it Sony Premium, DVCam, or HDV tape stock, they all seem to do the same job. Many have said that it is higher quality crap in the HDV tape. Others say it is the same crap in HDV as in the DVCam just a different box. All i know is our cameras treat them all the same. And sometimes cheap tape stock isn't necessarily a bad thing.
