Capture Help
by bronus (Bronus) on Sep 7, 2007 at 6:29:07 pm

G'day All!

One of me colleges just shot some footage on the JVC GY-HD100 in the HDV-SD60P format. For some 'ol reason I can't get her to capture. I was wonderin' if any of you blokes could help me out. What codec should I use? I am using firewire on FCP 5.1.4. Have I lost it, or is this as complicated as it looks? Thanks ya!

FCP 5.1.4 won't give you a 60P capture setting. I haven't checked if FCP 6.0.1 has one yet. I hope this is the camera test, not the shoot.

I did have a JVC camera in here briefly a few months ago and we were able to capture 50P by getting the camera to convert to 50i and then ingesting via HD SDI. I can't recall if we had proper machine control via firewire though.
