hey i am capturing with a sony hvr m15u, into FCP at 1080i60 and 50. A batch capture will simply not happen, and when i try to capture now, it splits clips automatically, which is my understanding that it should,,,but is missing seconds in between clips. any similar problems, or hopefully fixes from anyone?

What format drive are you capturing to?

i just checked the info and it say i have the mac OS extended formatting on both my computers internal drive and the SAN network we use. I understand that Fat32 formatting can create a problem, is this true?

The deck needs to be properly set for 50i or 60i, the deck is basically rebooted for the new setting. If you have mixed formats on one tape you will be resetting for each time it was changed on the tape.. In the Menu I believe it is in OTHER or the last main menu option you can find and all the way to the bottom the reset for 50i (PAL). Read the deck manual for working with 50i.

i think i need a better capture card. an aja Kona or blackmagic. i think this might be the source of my problem.
