TC chase between two Sony Z1U cameras

Does anyone have any experience in getting one Z1U to chase time code from another Z1U via iLink? Can it even be done? Thanks, CH

I don't know of a way to sync Z1s via firewire. You can set them both to Free Run and reset them simultaniously using the remote control. I've found that even then, the Z1s drift so expect to have to fine tune things, but it will get you very close.

You can shoot and record one camera's timecode window with the other camera after you've set the timecode. That will help you find the offset in post if needed.

Thanks David! I use various work-arounds quite often and they work great. I was just looking for that next step, pro feature and thought I was just missing something. Thanks again,CH

I've had success with the free-run reset-with-remote method, make sure both cameras are set to the same DF or NDF setting, not "auto."
