DV integration into 24p HiDef project
by Franco Bogino on Apr 17, 2007 at 11:17:47 pm

Hi

I am looking to find out about the quality and cost of upresind DV material to full HiDef, and/ or the best way to integrate DV naterial into a 24p HiDef project.

This is for a feature length documentary destined for theatrical release. The material is being shot at 24p 1080x1920, but there will be some stuff shot on Mini DV and HDV in some situations where the pro cameras cannot go.

I would like to hear any feedback on the best way to integrate such material into the project should we need to.

I am interested in any suggestions about the best editing system to use, and any ideas on potential costs if the naterial has to be upresed/ transferred to a HiDef format. Can this transfer be done at the online stage, or will it have to be right from the offline stage?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few different products designed to uprez SD into HD. They do a better job than just upscaling in your NLE.

Topaz is an AE plugin

and I have heard good things about Resizer from Digital Anarchy
