time lapse
by stever on Dec 14, 2006 at 5:12:39 pm

Having had problems in the past with head clogs doing time lapse over the course of a few days, I was thinking of attaching a firestore to a Sony HDV A1. Or, I read somewhere, that using a stills camera fired off by a computer was a better way to go. Sounds a bit more complicated to me. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?
Happy Christmas

There is a nice article by Marco Solario on using a still camera to do Hi-Def timelapse in the recent issue of Creative Cow magazine. It's definitely worth reading. HDV is not a good timelapse format. We used to do quite a bit of timelapse on our PD-170, but are going to switch to a still camera.
