JVC BR-HD50 deck reboot

I looks like some decks are starting to act like computers- and not alwasy in a good way! I was haveing trouble getting Final cut Pro to recognize my JVC HDV deck via firewire. Tried wapping cables, restarting FCP, etc. Zip, Nada. Then I turned the deck off & on- voila! They are now freinds again.

Ah, well- at least we also get upsides like the 24p firmware update for the deck.

have you had any issues with batch capturing footage shot in 720p 24p?

We are having a lot of trouble with the decks reading phantom timecode breaks in the footage and created hundreds of clips.
