Variations between Sony HVR-Z1 models

Can anyone tell me the difference between the HVR-Z1U (B&H catalogue) and the HVR-Z1P (Singapore). Isn't the HVR-Z1 supposed to be NTSC/Pal(SD) and 60i/50i (HDV)switchable? Does it really matter where you buy it, other than for reasons of warrenty/servicing?

Correct as far as I know. We are using HVR-Z1J's here from Japan and they appear to be identical to the other designations. I believe the letter designation has come about to try and diferentiate between markets due to warranty cover issues on 'grey imports' from countries.
