Auto clip separation on Premiere Pro 1.5.1 ??
by raukouy on Jan 29, 2006 at 6:43:29 am

Ive always edited on my Macs but since I have a gaming-only but ridiculously beefed up and powerfull PC my friend encouraged me to try Premiere Pro. Since I started NLE 11 years ago on a Media 100 I kinda like the interface so Im giving it a try. One thing I noticed is that (at least as a default setting) when you capture HDV via firewire PP dosnt creat a separate clip for every take like iMovie or FCP will do. Any way to set it so it recognizes the takes and auto creat clips?

Thanks.

You need to check the "scene detection" box near the lower right corner of the capture screen. Then press play and activate the record button. Each take will be captured as a seperate clip. Works quite well, although when capturing HDV I've noticed that it sometimes skips a take.
